Membership

We have a range of membership options at Cambridge depending on what type of involvement you want.

Once you become a member, we will arrange a suitable time for a Health and Safety induction at the club.

Racing Membership: $800

This membership option isfor athletes who want to train for and race in the summer season “club” 2km regattas. It includes your RNZ Licence fee and your WRA Levy. This does NOT include race fees, camp fees, uniform. The Racing Squad athletes are coached regularly and there are 3 “squad” sessions per week. Subject to your rowing ability assessment, you have full use of club plant at any time (working around boat bookings) and you able to book boats, subject to availability.

School Leaver Racing Membership: $700

This membership option is for athletes who want to train for and race in the summer season “club” 2km regattas AND are in their 1st year rowing for the club after leaving their high school programme. This can be any high school programme, it does not have to be a Cambridge affiliated school programme. It includes your RNZ Licence fee and your WRA Levy. This does NOT include race fees, camp fees, uniform. The Racing Squad athletes are coached regularly and there are 3 “squad” sessions per week. Subject to your rowing ability assessment, you have full use of club plant at any time (working around boat bookings) and you able to book boats, subject to availability.

Coxing Membership: $250

This membership is for coxes only and INCLUDES the RNZ racing licence, WRA Levy, all race fees and full membership of the club. The club provides cox boxes and life jackets for coxes.

Recreational Membership: $650

This membership is for rowers who want to row for health, fitness, pleasure and social reasons. It does not include an RNZ racing licence but members will be able to enter “participation” regattas such as Blue Lake Regatta and Legion Masters Regattas, as these do not require a racing licence. Subject to your rowing ability assessment, you have full use of club plant at any time (working around boat bookings) and you able to book boats, subject to availability.

Winter Membership $325

This caters for rowers from 20th February 2022 (the end of the New Zealand National Championships) to August 31st 2022, when the new membership year will commence. It does not include an RNZ racing licence but members will be able to enter “participation” events such as the Long Distance Races and Legion Masters Regattas, as these do not require a racing licence. Subject to your rowing ability assessment, you have full use of club plant at any time (working around boat bookings) and you able to book boats, subject to availability.

Learn to Row Membership: $200

This is for people who are registered to participate in one of the Cambridge Rowing Club’s Learn to Row Programmes. It covers FULLY SUPERVISED use of club plant only, at the coached Learn to Row sessions. If you choose to take up a membership at the end of Learn to Row, $100 will be credited towards your membership costs.

Coaching Membership

This membership is for fully committed club coaches only who are volunteering a considerable amount of time to the club. This membership is subject to committee approval.
